The Finance and Business Services Centre (FBSC) plays the primary role in the strategic management of financial resources across the University. Our aim is to partner with our customers and provide them with superior services that deliver professional relationships, efficient processes and sound financial management to support the University’s objectives.

About the Opportunity
Under broad direction from the Associate Director, Financial Services and in collaboration with other Financial Services staff, this position is responsible for managing financial analysis and accounting projects, review of compliance obligations to internal and external stakeholders.

About you
The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications:

- Degree in a relevant field (typically Commerce, Business or Management)



majoring in accounting or finance and a professional postgraduate qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA/MBA) combined with relevant experience as detailed below OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or skilled accreditation.

Experience:

- Proven record of skills and experience in financial analysis and reporting with sound knowledge of financial management systems and advanced skills in Excel (functions, manipulation and charting), data visualisation and extraction.
- Sound knowledge of broad business processes, demonstrated through experience in a similar role.
- The ability to investigate, identify and evaluate complex financial issues, then develop and recommend innovative, effective solutions taking account of associated risks and alternatives.
- The ability to develop and implement realistic financial models and effective reporting control mechanisms in response to organisational needs.
- Proven record of skills and experience in providing a range of strategic business and financial management services in a complex work environment.
