Principal Lawyer

to lead and develop our Estates team. This is an opportunity for an experienced succession lawyer to combine technical excellence with people leadership, driving productivity, quality and client outcomes across a busy and growing practice. This role is ideal for a senior practitioner who enjoys mentoring lawyers, improving performance, shaping strategy and building a high-performing team while continuing to work on complex and rewarding matters. The Opportunity

You will play a key leadership role within the firm, overseeing the delivery of estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation services. Working closely with the firm's leadership team, you will be responsible for the performance, development and output of the Estates practice while maintaining a strategic involvement in significant matters. Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of lawyers, paralegals and support staff. Drive productivity, utilisation, workflow management and matter progression across the team. Oversee file allocation, resourcing and capacity planning. Mentor and develop lawyers at varying levels of experience. Maintain high standards of legal work, client service and file management. Personally handle complex estate administration and estate litigation matters. Provide strategic advice on succession law issues and significant disputes. Contribute to business planning, growth initiatives and practice development. Foster a team-oriented, accountable and high-performance team culture. What We're Looking For

You are an experienced estates practitioner with a demonstrated ability to lead people, manage performance and deliver exceptional client outcomes. You will have:



10+ years post-admission experience. Significant experience in succession law, including estate administration and estate litigation. Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing legal teams. Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of practice profitability and productivity. The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain operational oversight of a busy practice. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. A commitment to client service, accountability and continuous improvement. Current admission to practise in Queensland.
