About the Role We are looking for an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Solution Architect to join our growing SAP consulting team in Melbourne. The Solution Architect will design end-to-end SuccessFactors solutions aligned to business requirements, HR transformation objectives and the broader SAP landscape, working closely with clients, HR leadership, functional consultants, technical teams and project leadership.
This is a design-and-assure architecture role. You will own the solution blueprint and key architectural decisions and provide technical direction to delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end solution architecture and design for SAP SuccessFactors implementations, transformation programs and enhancements, including landscape and instance strategy, non-functional requirements and system-of-record decisions across Employee Central, S/4HANA and payroll.
Translate HR business requirements into effective SuccessFactors solutions, including fit-gap analysis, build vs. configure vs. extend decisions (standard capability, SAP BTP extension or third-party) and opportunities to simplify HR processes and improve employee and manager experience.
Lead architecture workshops and design sessions with clients and stakeholders, and provide technical and architectural guidance to functional and technical teams.
Define integration architecture between SuccessFactors and SAP/non-SAP systems, including the choice between SuccessFactors-native integration tooling and SAP Integration Suite, and the integration patterns to be used.
Review functional and technical designs for alignment with the overall architecture, own the solution blueprint, decision log and design authority participation, and assure that dependencies are addressed by delivery teams.
Define the data and reporting architecture, including data models, migration strategy, governance, data quality and cleansing approach, cutover design, and reporting and analytics (for example Report Center, Story Reports or SAP Analytics Cloud).
Design the security and identity architecture, including role-based permission (RBP) and permission group strategy, SSO and identity federation (for example SAP Cloud Identity Services or Microsoft Entra ID), user provisioning, audit, and data retention and purging.
Ensure solutions follow SAP best practices and architecture standards, and design for Australian and multi-country requirements, including Modern Awards, Single Touch Payroll, superannuation, state-based long service leave, the Australian Privacy Principles and data residency.
Contribute architecture content, estimation inputs and solution presentations to proposals and pre-sales activities where required (commercial ownership remains with engagement leadership).
Provide architectural oversight through implementation, testing, go-live and hypercare, including the integration and regression testing strategy and handover to support (AMS).
Own the architectural approach to quarterly release management (preview testing, regression and Release Centre adoption) and stay current with SuccessFactors releases and SAP's evolving HXM technology landscape.
Build reusable IP (accelerators, templates and reference architectures), mentor consultants and contribute to the growth of the SuccessFactors practice.
SuccessFactors Modules Employee Central is required, together with deep expertise in at least one other core module. Broader experience across the following modules is preferred:
Employee Central, including Time-Off & Time Tracking (preferred), and Employee Central Payroll
Recruiting / SmartRecruiters and Onboarding (preferred)
Performance & Goals, Compensation, Learning, and Succession & Development
Workforce Analytics / People Analytics and Employee Experience / Qualtrics integration
Talent Intelligence Hub / skills ontology and SAP Business AI in SuccessFactors (preferred)
Key Requirements
10+ years of SAP SuccessFactors / SAP HXM experience, including at least three end-to-end enterprise implementations as the named or lead solution architect.
Strong understanding of SuccessFactors Employee Central and HR business processes.
Strong understanding of SuccessFactors data migration, security, role-based permissions and identity federation/SSO, and experience designing integrations between SuccessFactors, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Payroll and third-party applications.
Experience across the complete project lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through solution design, implementation and go-live, using SAP Activate or an equivalent methodology and tools such as SAP Cloud ALM.
Working knowledge of Australian HR and payroll compliance and data residency considerations, or a demonstrated ability to acquire it quickly.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both HR/business and technical stakeholders.
Experience providing technical leadership to functional consultants, developers and integration teams.
SAP SuccessFactors certifications will be highly regarded.
SAP BTP exposure including side-by-side extensions, SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone and SAP S/4HANA.
Experience in HR transformation and digital HR programs, including global or multi-country implementations with cross-border localisation and compliance.
What We Offer
Opportunity to work on complex SAP SuccessFactors and HR transformation programs, with exposure to enterprise HR technology, global SAP environments and senior HR and technology stakeholders.
A collaborative consulting setting with opportunities for technical leadership, career growth and contributing to the growth of our SAP SuccessFactors capability.
