Ramp Assistant tojoin our dynamic and growing team.
This is anideal role for someone looking to kick-start their career in aviation. Withfull training provided, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of rampand flight activities while developing valuable industry skills in a fast-pacedenvironment.
Reporting tothe Base and Contract Manager, you’ll join a close-knit team where you’ll playa key role in ensuring protected, efficient and smooth running of operations at thebase.
Responsibilitiesof the role include:
Assist with the preparation andloading/unloading of aircraft for daily flight operations.
Assist with fuelling operations,including rotors running refuelling and ensure fuel quality control andfuel sampling.
Assist with passenger escort, safetybriefing, and loading/unloading of passengers.
Monitor passenger behaviour andreport any safety or security concerns.
Acceptance and manifesting ofcargo/freight.
Handle baggage and freight inaccordance with safe manual handling practices and company procedures.
Ensuring that all passengers arewearing lifejackets and that these are correctly fitted prior toembarkation.
Assist with safe loading andsecuring of baggage and cargo aboard the helicopter.
Support aircraft loadingactivities to ensure weight and balance requirements are met and freightand passengers are properly secured.
Assist with base audits asrequired.
Assist with base mobilisationsas required, including deployments, cyclone response,
and emergencyevacuations
Wash, clean and polish aircrafts
Assist with monitoring,maintaining, and operating base ground support equipment (tugs, forklifts,fuel systems).
Support stock control andmanagement of consumables, PPE, and other items essential to the rampattendant role.
Confirm security of all doorsafter passenger boarding and conduct external security check of thehelicopter prior to aircraft start up.
Conduct fire watch duties onstart and until helicopter is clear of the heliport.
Assist in the efficientmanagement of ramp operations to ensure flights depart on time and reportreasons for delays to flight following or direct line supervisor.
Maintain ramp FOD control andgeneral housekeeping and cleanliness in and around base/hangar to ensure asafe work and operational environment.
Operate base support equipmentto include aircraft tug/tractor and forklift in support of daily flightoperations.
Assist Engineering in movementand towing of aircraft.
Perform the cleaning,inspection, certification, tracking, documentation, inventory control, andongoing management of all passenger and crew life jackets.
Other tasks as directed by theBase and Contracts Manager
