Principal Security Engineer (DevSecOps / Cloud Security)

Your new companyJoin a rapid-moving organisation operating a portfolio of digital ventures in a highly regulated environment. You'll be part of a small, high-calibre security team helping shape security engineering practices across multiple products, platforms and emerging technologies.

Your new roleThis is a genuine hands-on Principal Security Engineer opportunity, not an architecture-only or people-management role.
You'll lead the security engineering roadmap while remaining deeply involved in building and automating security controls across cloud-native environments. Working closely with platform and engineering teams, you'll drive Security as Code, DevSecOps and cloud security initiatives across AWS and Azure.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code and Security as Code initiatives
- Designing and implementing cloud security controls across AWS and Azure
- Building automated guardrails, policies and access controls
- Embedding security into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows
- Developing detection capabilities and Microsoft Sentinel use cases
- Driving security automation and engineering maturity across the portfolio




- Acting as the senior technical SME and mentoring other security engineers
- Supporting security strategy for emerging AI and GenAI initiatives

What you’ll need to succeed
- Staff, Lead or Principal-level security engineering experience
- Deep DevSecOps and cloud security expertise
- Strong AWS and Azure experience
- Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform
- Security automation, Policy as Code and Security as Code capability
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and detection engineering
- Strong understanding of modern CI/CD environments
- A hands-on approach combined with strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
