As part of the Engineering team, you will play an important role in maintaining the hotel’s gardens, grounds and facilities to a high standard. This diverse position combines horticultural duties with general handyman and maintenance tasks, ensuring our outdoor areas and guest spaces remain safe, functional and beautifully presented.
You will work alongside an experienced and supportive Engineering team who take pride in maintaining one of Cairns’ leading hospitality properties. With planned work, supplied tools and solid team support, you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact across the hotel.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining gardens, lawns and landscaped areas throughout the hotel grounds.
- Applying horticultural knowledge to plant care, pruning,
fertilising and general garden maintenance.
- Completing mowing, edging, weeding and seasonal garden tasks.
- Monitoring plant health and reporting irrigation or maintenance issues.
- Maintaining pathways, planters, outdoor furniture and external guest areas.
- Assisting with general handyman and maintenance tasks as part of the Engineering team.
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities across the property.
- Working with internal teams and external contractors when required.
- Ensuring outdoor and public areas are safe, clean and presented to a high standard.
