Robert Half is currently partnering with a well-established business based in Canning Vale to recruit an Assistant Accountant for a 6-12 month temporary assignment.
This is a hands-on role offering a mix of Accounts Receivable, reconciliations and month-end accounting responsibilities. We're looking for someone with a strong transactional finance background who is confident working across the broader accounting function.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function, including customer enquiries, payment allocations and debt collection
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing customer payments and maintaining customer accounts
- Performing regular reconciliations between the general ledger and AR aged balances
- Preparing monthly customer statements and managing intercompany transactions
- Assisting with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals and provisions
- Supporting depreciation adjustments and general ledger cost allocations
- Investigating invoice discrepancies and liaising with internal teams to resolve queries
- Assisting with ongoing process improvements and general finance support as required
About You
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar role
- Robust Accounts Receivable experience, including collections and reconciliations
- Experience assisting with month-end processes and general ledger journals
- A sound understanding of accounting principles
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Availability to commence at short notice
