This is a full-time Blast & Painting Supervisor role with Hunter Buildings Pty Ltd based in Black Hill, NSW. in a modern facility, featuring a state-of-the-art blast chamber, air filtration system and overhead cranes.
The Blast & Painting Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and high quality delivery of paint shop operations.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will supervise the team whilst actively contributing on the floor, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specifications. You will take ownership of the paint shop performance and be supported by an experienced in‑house team across detailing, fabrication and site installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily paint shop operation and workflow
- Ensure all projects are completed on time and to required standards
- Monitor staff productivity and maintain efficient work output
- Oversee quality control including surface preparation and coating inspections
- Minimise material waste and manage consumables effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
- Support team leadership,
training and development
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and arrange repairs
- Process purchase orders and maintain documentation
- Ensure traceability of all fabricated and customer-supplied products
- Complete timesheets and required reporting
About You
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a paint shop or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of spray painting and surface preparation
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
