Pop-Up Therapy is looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team.
We are a paediatric occupational therapy service supporting children and young people across their everyday environments, including homes, schools and the community. Our approach is strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and focused on helping children build skills, confidence and participation in the things that matter to them.
This is a great chance for someone who enjoys working with children and families and would like to develop their skills within a supportive paediatric OT team.
About the Role:
- Working under the supervision and delegation of our Occupational Therapists, you will support children and young people to work towards their therapy goals.
- Your role will include:
- Delivering individual therapy sessions and implementing programs developed by the supervising OT
- Supporting children to practise skills relating to daily living, fine and gross motor development, sensory processing and social participation
- Building positive relationships with children, young people and their families
- Supporting families to implement strategies and home programs as directed by the OT
- Preparing therapy activities, equipment and resources
- Completing session notes and communicating relevant observations and progress to the supervising OT
- Travelling to homes, schools and community locations for appointments
About you:
- We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have completed, or are currently completing, a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, Individual Support (Disability), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or a related qualification
- Have experience working with children and/or people with disability
- Are warm, engaging and confident building relationships with children and families
- Have strong communication and organisational skills
- Are comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive team
- Hold a current Queensland driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Hold, or are able to obtain prior to commencement, a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted Queensland driver's licence
- Satisfactory reference check.
