Operational Readiness Mechanical Engineer

We are the proud owner and operator of the Fish Gold Mine andthe expanded Sandstone district, home to the region’s largestMineral Resource inventory (2.4Moz @ 1.5g/t Au). With constructionof our Laverton Processing Facility now well underway, we areprogressing the development of our open pits and expanding ourunderground operations as we move towards production.

With a commanding land position and a clear strategy for growth,Brightstar is building a significant gold operation in WesternAustralia. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at apivotal stage and play a key role in shaping the future of ourgrowing operation.

About the role:

Construction of our gold processing facility and associatedinfrastructure is well underway at our site near Laverton, WA. Weare seeking an experienced Operational Readiness MechanicalEngineer to join our team on an 8/6 roster/hybrid in theoffice when required. This role will ensure the long-term assetintegrity of the plant within the operational readiness phase, bypreventing premature failures during the ramp up phase andsafeguarding the site-based team has the tools and data to fixequipment quickly.





Key responsibilities

- Tactical Development: Develop maintenance strategies andFMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) forcritical mechanical assets like primary crushers, gyratoryscreens, and leach tank agitators.
- CMMS Integration: Support the build of mechanical assethierarchy and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and Billsof Materials (BOMs) for loading into the CMMS.
- Lubrication Management: Establish a site wide LubricationSchedule and contamination control standards for all rotatingequipment.
- First Fill & Insurance Spares: Identify and procurecritical insurance spares (e.g., mill pinion bearings, sparepump wet-ends, and conveyor gearboxes).
- As Built Documentation: Review and verify all mechanicaldata sheets, structural certifications, and pressure vesselregistrations.
- Commissioning Support: Support operational readinessactivities during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and sitecommissioning to ensure maintainability.

About you:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experienced in mineral processing, ideally with experiencein Large-Scale Grinding Circuits and slurry handling.
- Proficiency in ISO 55001 Asset Management and root causeanalysis (RCA) methodologies.
