Role & Responsibilities
- Apply a risk-based methodology to lead complex investigations into potential non-compliance and avoidance schemes under relevant Commonwealth legislation.
- Utilise data and intelligence tools to extract actionable insights, proactively identifying high-risk behaviours, entities, and systemic non-compliance trends.
- Independently review complex financial disclosures and statutory funding claims to ensure complete accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare executive briefs, detailed investigation reports, policy advice, and official correspondence for senior decision-makers.
- Oversee and coordinate statutory funding assessments and disbursement processes across the operational cycle.
- Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and leadership to junior team members, fostering capability development through period of organisational reform.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in financial data analysis, auditing methodologies, intelligence gathering tools, and legislative interpretation. Relevant qualifications in Government Investigations, Accounting, Finance, or Commerce are highly regarded.
- Experience: Demonstrated track record leading or supporting financial audits, regulatory assurance activities, or complex compliance investigations within government or enterprise environments.
- Core Capabilities: High-level problem-solving skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, strategic stakeholder engagement, sound judgment under pressure, and proven team leadership.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current Baseline security clearance or, at minimum, be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain one.
