Qualified Commercial Plumber / Leading Hand We are looking for an experienced Commercial Plumber/Leading Hand to join our growing team.

This position is suited to someone with a strong commercial plumbing background who is confident working across commercial maintenance, upgrades and new commercial construction .

We are not looking for someone who simply wants to turn up, complete a job and go home. We want an experienced tradesperson who can take ownership of projects, lead other tradesmen and apprentices, communicate professionally with clients and help maintain the high standard our business is known for.

Top Knotch Plumbing is a long-standing, family-owned plumbing company based in Yatala on the Gold Coast.

With over 17 years in the industry, we have built a strong reputation for delivering quality commercial plumbing throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions.

Our work includes commercial maintenance, new commercial construction, education facilities, industrial sites, civil and infrastructure-related plumbing, sewer and stormwater works, water services and commercial upgrades.

The Role

This is a hands‑on commercial plumbing position with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and within the business.

Depending on experience, your work may include:

- Commercial and industrial plumbing maintenance and upgrades
- New commercial construction and fit‑outs
- Commercial sewer, stormwater and water infrastructure
- Sewer rising mains and pump systems
- Water main installations and modifications
- Live water main cut‑ins
- Commercial drainage installations and rectification works




- Reading and working from hydraulic plans and specifications
- Coordinating jobs with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades
- Working alongside and assisting other plumbers, apprentices and labourers
- Organising materials, labour and day‑to‑day job requirements
- Identifying problems on site and providing practical solutions
- Maintaining strong communication with clients throughout projects
- Completing required job documentation and handover information
- Residential plumbing maintenance

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with proven commercial plumbing experience who is comfortable taking responsibility and representing Top Knotch Plumbing professionally on site.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Current QLD Plumbing and Drainage Licence required (gas licence advantageous)
- Strong experience in commercial plumbing maintenance
- Strong experience in new commercial construction
- Experience in leading plumbers, apprentices or small site teams
- Experience with commercial sewer, stormwater and water services
- Experience with sewer rising mains, pump systems and larger commercial drainage works
- Live water cut‑in experience or relevant water authority experience is highly regarded
- Ability to read hydraulic drawings and understand commercial specifications
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills




- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to communicate confidently with builders, project managers, facility managers and clients
- A professional attitude and high standard of workmanship
- Current driver’s licence

Gas, Backflow Prevention, TMV and other relevant commercial plumbing qualifications will be highly regarded.

Applicants with leadership and client‑management experience should be able to demonstrate examples of previous projects, responsibilities and teams they have managed or supervised. References supporting this experience will be highly regarded.
