An exciting opportunity is available for a reliable and physically fit General Hand to join a busy operations team based in St Marys. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining clean and secure environments, and is comfortable working in a fast‑paced logistics setting.
You will play a key role in supporting daily depot operations, ensuring facilities are well maintained, safe, and operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Container unpacking and general freight handling
- Grounds maintenance and upkeep
- Operating yard equipment including sweepers
- Pressure cleaning and general site cleaning
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Manual handling of freight and materials
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment
- Following safety procedures and company policies at all times
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar general hand or maintenance role
- Forklift Licence (highly desirable)
- Experience within transport, logistics, or warehousing environments preferred
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Trades background advantageous but not essential
- Ability to read instructions and understand basic measurements
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- White Card (preferred)
