About the role

As a Children & Families Ministry Assistant (Delivery), this is your opportunity to support the delivery of safe, engaging and faith-filled programs that help children and families build connection, belonging and participation in the life of the Corps. Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, part time role, offering 19 hours a week, based on site in Howrah, Tasmania.

How you will make an impact

Support the delivery of engaging children and families’ programs, events, outreach activities and camps. Build strong relationships with children, families, parents and carers, encouraging connection and participation in the life of the Corps. Deliver age-appropriate faith development opportunities for children through a range of ministry programs and activities. Create safe, welcoming and engaging ministry environments that align with The Salvation Army’s mission, values and child-safe standards. Recruit, support and develop volunteers, ensuring compliance with screening, safeguarding and onboarding requirements. Work collaboratively with ministry teams to provide holistic support for children and families while maintaining compliance with policies, safety and risk management requirements.

What you will bring





- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Certificate IV level in ministry or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills is desirable.
- A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)
- Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment.
- Experience building supportive and inclusive relationships with children and families
- A national police record check is required
- Drivers Licence
- Working With Children Check
