Bread Packer / Production Operator | Bendigo Chandler Macleod is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Bread Packers / Production Operators to join our client’s busy production team in Bendigo .
These casual opportunities offer ongoing work across a rotating 7-day roster, with the potential for regular hours for the right candidates.
About the Role
Working within a quick-paced bread production environment, you will be responsible for monitoring, packing, and quality checking bread products while ensuring production targets and safety standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor bread slicing and packaging machinery
- Conduct quality checks on finished products
- Change packaging bags and adjust machine settings for different products
- Pack bread manually during machine downtime
- Collect, stack, and manage bypassed product
- Load bread boxes onto storage shelves
- Change slicer blades using appropriate safety equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with general production duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or machine operation highly regarded
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work a rotating 7-day roster
- Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role that requires:
- Constant standing throughout the shift
- Frequent walking, bending, squatting, lifting, and carrying
- Frequent handling of bread boxes weighing up to 7kg
- Occasional lifting of items up to 20kg
- Repetitive manual handling and firm gripping tasks
- Ability to work in a noisy production environment around machinery
What You'll Need
- Ability to complete an 8-hour shift with potential overtime
- Steel cap safety boots
- Ability to pass any required pre-employment checks
- Availability for weekend and shift work as required
