Seeking a Qualified Chef at Paisley Park Randwick
We are looking for a passionate, experienced Chef to join our team at Paisley Park Early Learning Centre in Randwick, preparing nutritious, delicious, thoughtfully designed meals for up to 160 children aged 0–5 years.
This is an opportunity for a Chef who wants to do more than prepare meals. You will play an important role in the children's everyday experience at Paisley Park, creating food that is nutritious, appealing, and culturally diverse; supporting children's developing relationship with food; and bringing cooking and food experiences into the educational program.
You will work from our purpose-built, beautifully designed commercial kitchen, supported by a team of kitchen staff, with the autonomy to bring your expertise, creativity and passion to the role.
About the role

You will work from our purpose-built, beautifully designed commercial kitchen, supported by a team of kitchen staff, with the autonomy to bring your expertise, creativity and passion to the role.
What you'll be doing
- Plan and prepare nutritious, varied and appealing daily menus for children aged 0–5 years, in line with NSW nutritional and dietary guidelines
- Cater thoughtfully and safely for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences
- Work collaboratively with Educators, Centre Leadership, families and kitchen staff to create positive food experiences for children
- Introduce children to fresh,
seasonal and culturally diverse foods and support age-appropriate cooking and food experiences within the educational program
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and kitchen safety
- Work within Paisley Park's Child Safe framework, understanding your responsibility for creating safe and respectful environments for children
- Lead and collaborate with our kitchen support team to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and to a high standard
- Manage stock, ordering, food preparation and kitchen organisation
- Contribute to special events, family experiences and our Community Engagement Framework, including occasional evening, weekend or off-site events when required
- Build connections with local producers, businesses and the wider Randwick community where opportunities arise
- Create a welcoming kitchen environment where food is valued as an key part of children's health, wellbeing, learning and sense of belonging
What we're looking for
We are looking for a Chef who brings professional skill, creativity and genuine care for children. You will ideally have:
- A formal culinary qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within an early childhood, education, hospitality or large-scale catering environment
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, allergen management and dietary requirements for young children
- An understanding of, and commitment to, child safety and safeguarding responsibilities
- The ability to develop compelling and nutritious menus that children genuinely enjoy
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work positively with Educators, families and kitchen staff
- A willingness to participate in cooking experiences and contribute to children's learning through food
- Flexibility to support occasional community events, evening/weekend activities or off-site experiences
- Most importantly, a genuine passion for great food and creating positive experiences for children
