We are seeking a qualified CPA to join our team on a part-time basis.
Initially, the role will require one day per week working from our Mulgrave office, with the possibility of increasing to two days per week down the line.
This position combines day-to-day accounting responsibilities with financial planning and compliance and relationship management with the ATO, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with a growing technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for both salaried employees and contractors
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Preparation and lodgement support for BAS and other ATO obligations
- Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office when required
- Assist with R&D; Tax Incentive claims and supporting documentation
- Assist with grant applications and government reporting requirements
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial projections
- Work closely with the CEO to prepare financial reports and planning documents
- Support end-of-year accounting processes and liaise with external accountants where required
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- 3+ years experience
- Robust working knowledge of Xero
- Experience in bookkeeping and payroll administration
- Experience dealing with the ATO and Australian tax compliance
- Experience/Knowledge of preparing cash flow forecasts and financial projections
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with management
