City of Gold Coast
Trayne Consulting is currently recruiting an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager for an established and successful hospitality business based on the Gold Coast.
This is a genuinely hands-on role combining financial management reporting and commercial support with the day-to-day accounting needs of a busy, high-volume hospitality operation.
You'll work closely with the owners, General Manager and broader management team, taking ownership of the finance function while helping improve systems, reporting and processes as the business continues to grow.
And because this is hospitality, teamwork matters. From time to time, everyone pitches in to support the venue when needed - so we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of the broader business, not just the finance function.
This could also be a great next step for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take ownership of a broader finance function.
The role
Responsibilities will include:
End-to-end management of the finance and accounting function
High-volume accounts payable and receivable
Weekly payroll for approximately 65 employees
Bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple accounts
Management accounts and financial reporting
BAS, IAS, GST, superannuation and STP requirements
CAPEX tracking and reporting
Supplier account management and weekly payment runs
Identifying opportunities to streamline systems, processes and reporting
Providing financial information and commercial insight to management
About you
We are looking for someone who is commercially capable but equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting into the detail.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Accountant or similar, including experienced Senior Accountants ready to step into a broader role.
Strong hands-on accounting and management reporting experience
Hospitality, hotel, pub or club experience highly regarded
Experience with high-volume AP/AR and weekly payroll
Robust knowledge of payroll, including hospitality Award requirements
Excellent Excel skills and confidence working across accounting systems including Tanda, Lightyear and Xero.
Experience improving systems, processes and efficiencies
Strong communication and customer service skills
The ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a busy operation
A practical, flexible and team-focused approach
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a finance function at an important stage of growth.
Hours are generally Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm, however flexibility will be required to start earlier, finish later or work additional hours when business needs require.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a clean valid National Police Check issued within the last six months.
If you are looking for a Finance Manager role where you can make a genuine impact, improve the way things are done and be part of the wider business, we would love to hear from you.
