Junior Draftsperson – 4x4 Product Design

Casual Position | 4x4 & Automotive Industry

We are looking for a Junior Draftsperson to join our team on a casual basis, working on the design and development of 4x4 and automotive products .

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for 4x4s, automotive products, CAD design and engineering , and wants to develop their skills in a hands-on product development environment.

About the Role

You will work alongside our team to assist with designing, developing and modifying 4x4 products and accessories.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Creating and modifying 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Assisting with the design and development of current 4x4 products and accessories
- Making modifications to existing products and designs
- Preparing detailed manufacturing drawings
- Taking measurements from existing vehicles and components
- Assisting with 3D scanning of vehicles and components
- Learning how to turn 3D scans into usable CAD models
- Working with the team to develop practical, manufacturable designs
- Assisting with prototypes and product development
- Making design changes based on testing and real-world fitment
- Maintaining organised CAD files and drawings

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Junior or entry-level , with a genuine interest in developing their drafting and design skills
- Comfortable using SolidWorks
- Interested in learning 3D scanning and reverse engineering
- Passionate about 4x4s,



cars and automotive products
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Practical and hands-on with a good understanding of how things are manufactured
- Attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work
- Able to work independently but also as part of a team
- Willing to learn and take on new skills
- Reliable, organised and has a good work ethic

Skills & Experience

Required:

- Experience using SolidWorks
- Basic understanding of 3D modelling and technical drawings
- Good computer skills
- Strong attention to detail

Highly regarded:

- Experience with 4x4s or automotive products
- Experience with 3D scanning
- Experience with reverse engineering
- Understanding of sheet metal, CNC, fabrication or manufacturing
- Experience designing brackets, mounts, accessories or similar products
- Mechanical or engineering studies/background

The Opportunity

This is a casual position with the potential for ongoing work for the right person.

You will have the opportunity to work on real-world 4x4 product development , from the initial concept and 3D scan through to CAD design, prototyping and manufacturing.
