A unique private position caring for multiple dogs in a beautiful rural home

We are seeking a reliable, caring and experienced Dog Minder to assist with the regular care, companionship and supervision of our dogs at our private rural property in the Macedon Ranges.

This is an ongoing part-time position, ideally suited to someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs and is confident caring for multiple dogs of different sizes, ages and personalities .

The role is primarily about providing the dogs with company, supervision, exercise and a consistent routine while we are away from the property during the day.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

- Caring for and supervising multiple dogs within our private home and property
- Providing companionship and ensuring the dogs are comfortable and settled
- Walking, exercise, play and enrichment activities
- Feeding and providing fresh water as required
- Following established household routines and instructions
- Reinforcing positive manners and existing household rules
- Confidently and safely managing multiple dogs together




- Monitoring the dogs' general wellbeing and advising us of any concerns
- Keeping dog areas clean and tidy
- Other general dog-care duties as required

This is not a housekeeping position . The focus is on the dogs and providing them with attentive, responsible care.

About You

We are looking for someone who is mature, dependable, calm and genuinely comfortable around dogs .

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Previous experience caring for dogs, particularly in a multi-dog household
- Confidence handling dogs of different sizes and personalities
- A genuine love of dogs and an understanding of their needs and behaviour
- A calm, patient and responsible approach
- Excellent reliability and punctuality
- The ability to work independently in a private home
- Good communication skills
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Current Police Check
- Strong references that can be contacted and verified

Experience in dog minding, pet sitting, kennels, veterinary environments, dog training or other professional animal-care roles would be highly regarded, but formal dog-training qualifications are not required.

As this position involves working independently within our private home, trustworthiness, discretion and reliability are essential .

Hours

Approximately 2 days per week, generally 9:00am–3:00pm .

There is flexibility around which days are worked, and some flexibility with hours may occasionally be required. Additional days or hours may also be available from time to time by mutual agreement.

We are looking for someone interested in establishing a regular, long-term arrangement and becoming a familiar and trusted part of the dogs' routine.
