Kurri Dental Surgery is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic dental practice environment, providing essential support to our dental practitioners and ensuring our patients receive exceptional care. Based in Kurri Kurri, NSW, this role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our surgery and the delivery of high-quality dental services.
What you'll be doing
Assisting dentists and dental hygienists during clinical procedures and treatments
Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient appointments
Providing chairside support, including passing instruments and maintaining a clear operating field
Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) where qualified to do so
Recording patient information and maintaining accurate dental records
Managing patient flow and ensuring appointment schedules run smoothly
Providing oral healthcare education and advice to patients
Maintaining infection control standards and following health and safety protocols
Supporting reception duties including greeting patients and managing enquiries
Restocking supplies and maintaining a clean, organised work environment
What we're looking for

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and sterilisation
Reliability and flexibility with scheduling
Previous experience not essential. On-Job-Training.
