Senior Workplace Relations Consultant | Financial Services

SENIOR WORKPLACE RELATIONS CONSULTANT | 6 month contract

Melbourne CBD | Hybrid, 2 -3 days in office | $165,000 to $175,000 package | 6 month fixed term

A large, profit-for-members financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Workplace Relations Consultant on a 6-month fixed term basis. The role sits within a large P&C; team and provides specialist, legally informed advice across a broad range of complex workplace relations matters, with particular depth in psychosocial safety, ill and injured case management, and return to work.

You will bring deep WR expertise, sound commercial judgement, and the interpersonal capability to work across unions, external legal advisers, People Leaders, and senior executives with equal confidence.

What You'll Be Doing

- Providing senior level, legally informed advice on complex and high risk workplace relations matters including conduct, grievances, disputes, and organisational change
- Managing matters involving illness or injury, psychological or physical safety, capacity for work, reasonable adjustments, and return to work
- Supporting the Senior Manager on strategic projects, enterprise frameworks, policy, and capability initiatives within the WR and injury management space




- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with unions, employee representatives, and key stakeholders across the business
- Uplifting leader capability through coaching, training, and practical resources on WR best practice, EA interpretation, and psychosocial risk
- Maintaining accurate, confidential records of all cases in line with legal and governance requirements

Background Required

- Substantial experience in a senior workplace relations or employment law advisory role
- Robust working knowledge of Australian WR legislation, WHS duties, and psychosocial risk frameworks
- Experience in a regulated, unionised environment; Fair Work Commission exposure valued
- Tertiary qualification in law, human resources, industrial relations, or a related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage emotionally complex matters with calm, discretion, and sound process

What's On Offer

$165,000 to $175,000 package inclusive of super. 6 month fixed term. Hybrid working, 2 to 3 days in the Melbourne (or Sydney) office.
