Sustainability Advisor | Major Infrastructure Project
About the role
An excellent chance has become available for an experienced Sustainability Advisor to join the delivery team on a major infrastructure project south of Brisbane. Working as part of a highly experienced project team, you will support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the project, helping ensure environmental, social and sustainability objectives are embedded throughout project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of the project Sustainability Management Plan
- Monitoring and reporting against project sustainability targets and KPIs
- Supporting sustainability ratings, frameworks and compliance requirements
- Identifying opportunities to improve resource efficiency, waste reduction and sustainable procurement
- Assisting with carbon, energy, water and materials reporting
- Working with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve project sustainability objectives
- Supporting sustainability audits,
reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on sustainability requirements
- Promoting sustainability awareness across the wider project team
About you
- Minimum 3 years' experience within sustainability, environmental management or a related position
- Previous experience within civil infrastructure, construction or engineering highly regarded
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
- Knowledge of sustainability principles, reporting and environmental performance
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced major project environment
- Strong reporting, analytical and organisational skills
- Experience with infrastructure sustainability frameworks such as IS Rating Scheme would be advantageous
