Active Conductors Electrical is a growing Sydney-based commercial electrical contracting company specialising in commercial fit-outs, refurbishments and construction projects from 50K to 1M

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team and take ownership of the successful delivery of our electrical projects.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to play an important role in a growing business, take responsibility for projects from start to finish, and have a genuine influence on how the business operates.

About the Role

Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for managing the electrical component of projects from commencement through to completion.

You will be trusted to manage your projects with a high level of independence, while having support from management when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing commercial electrical projects from start to finish

- Planning and programming works to ensure projects are delivered on time

- Coordinating electricians, apprentices, subcontractors and suppliers

- Managing project budgets, costs and labour

- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation

- Coordinating with builders, clients, consultants and other trades

- Attending site meetings and coordinating project requirements

- Preparing and managing variations and additional works

- Reviewing project scope and identifying potential cost issues

- Organising materials, equipment and site requirements

- Monitoring project progress against programme and budget

- Identifying design issues, clashes and potential delays

- Coordinating shop drawings, technical queries and approvals

- Managing project documentation and QA requirements

- Coordinating testing, commissioning, defects and handover

- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications,



standards and project requirements

- Maintaining strong relationships with builders and clients

- Providing regular project updates to management

- Supporting estimating and tendering for upcoming projects when required

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced electrical project manager who can take ownership of projects and operate independently.

Ideally, you will have:

- Relevant electrical qualification and/or extensive electrical industry experience

- Solid experience managing commercial electrical projects

- Proven commercial fit-out and refurbishment experience

- Strong understanding of electrical construction and installation

- Experience managing project budgets, labour and costs

- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications

- Strong programming and planning skills

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- Ability to confidently deal with builders, clients, consultants and subcontractors

- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative

- Ability to identify issues before they become problems

- Strong understanding of project variations and commercial management

- High standards of quality and safety

- Current Australian driver's licence

- White Card

An NSW Electrical Licence would be highly regarded.

The Person

We're looking for someone who doesn't need to be constantly directed.

You will be trusted to run your projects largely independently, make decisions, solve problems and keep projects moving.

You will have support from the Director when required,



but we're looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day management of their projects and provide confidence that things are being looked after.

You should be commercially minded, organised, proactive and comfortable dealing with people at all levels of a construction project.

Most importantly, you need to understand electrical construction — not just project management.

- $140,000–$160,000 + super, depending on experience
