About the Role

At RSPCA Victoria, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools we have to create lasting change for animals. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Education Officer to join our Training and Education team and help inspire individuals and communities to improve animal welfare.

In this role, you’ll develop and deliver engaging education programs for primary and secondary school students, community groups and other audiences. Through interactive learning experiences, you’ll help build empathy towards animals and encourage positive, lasting changes in attitudes and behaviours.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Developing, delivering and evaluating education programs for primary and secondary schools, including incursions and excursions.
- Supporting industry training, Certificate II and III in Animal Studies, and community education programs.
- Creating engaging digital and learning resources in collaboration with the Digital Education Officer and internal subject matter experts.
- Adapting learning approaches to engage diverse audiences and create positive learning experiences.
- Evaluating programs and resources to measure impact and identify opportunities for improvement.




- Supporting and motivating the Education team to achieve program goals.
- Ensuring the highest standards of welfare, care and ethical treatment of Education animals.

What we are looking for from you

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Teaching/Education.
- At least two years’ post-qualification experience in teaching or learning and development.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or Diploma of Vocational Education & Training.
- Demonstrated animal handling, husbandry and welfare knowledge and experience.

Highly Regarded

- An animal-related qualification or relevant study

Recruitment Requirements

- Current and valid driver’s licence.
- Current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
- Current tetanus vaccination or willingness to obtain
