With three diamond rigs operating at the Blue Moon Gold Project in the northern extension of the historic Bendigo Goldfield, this is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in geological interpretation, drill targeting and exploration planning as Falcon advances one of Victoria’s most active gold exploration programs. Recent drilling has confirmed high-grade gold mineralisation across multiple zones, with exploration continuing to unlock the project’s potential.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Exploration Geologist to join our Bendigo‑based team and contribute to the next phase of exploration.
About the Role
You will be involved in geological logging, interpretation, 3D modelling, drill planning and target generation at the Blue Moon Gold Project, while also gaining exposure to Falcon’s broader Australian exploration portfolio.
Unlike many exploration roles, this position is primarily Monday to Friday, allowing you to be home most nights while working on an active and growing exploration program. You will contribute directly to geological interpretation, drill targeting and exploration decisions, with occasional regional and remote field campaigns providing additional variety and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Geological and structural logging of diamond drill core
- Geological interpretation and 3D modelling
- Drill targeting and exploration planning
- Geological mapping and field investigations
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations
- Mentoring junior geologists
- Liaising with contractors, consultants and technical staff
- Maintaining high safety, environmental and operational standards
About You
- Degree in Geology
- 2-5 years’ experience in mineral exploration or mining
- Experience logging and interpreting diamond drill core
- Sound understanding of structural geology
- Experience with Micromine, Leapfrog, QGIS or similar geological software
- Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Right to work in Australia
- Committed to living and working in the Bendigo region
Gold exploration experience is welcomed but not essential. We encourage applications from geologists with experience across a range of commodities and deposit styles.
