About the Role

Make a genuine difference in the lives of older people as a Direct Care Worker / Carer – Residential at Bordertown Memorial Hospital and Aged Care.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide compassionate, person-centred care that helps residents maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life. From personal care and mobility support to assisting with meals, activities, treatments and everyday needs, you’ll play an important part in creating a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents.

You’ll work under the direct or indirect supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses as part of the residential care team.

About You

You’re a compassionate and dependable care professional who genuinely enjoys supporting older people. You communicate well, work confidently as part of a team and bring empathy, initiative and sound judgement to your work. You’ll be comfortable providing hands-on care while treating every resident with dignity, respect and understanding.

To succeed in the Direct Care Worker / Carer – Residential role, you will:

- Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or other relevant qualification (For WHD4 Class)
- Have experience providing direct care within a health-related setting.
- Have experience supporting older, frail or people living with disability.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Bring sound judgement, initiative, problem-solving skills and a compassionate approach to supporting residents.

Aged Care services at Bordertown Memorial Hospital and Aged Care provide compassionate,



person-centred support to older people within the local community.

As a Direct Care Worker, you’ll work closely with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and other health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary care team. Your work will support residents with personal care, mobility, daily activities, meals, treatments and maintaining a comfortable living environment, while promoting dignity, independence and quality of life.

Conditions of Employment

- A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
- A current driver's licence is essential, with a willingness to drive on country roads and travel as required.
- Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A
