About the Role
This is an experienced Underwriter role in Melbourne. It is a market-facing role: you will be out with brokers, building the portfolio, not processing behind a desk.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Underwriting Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines risks within your authority;
- Quoting new business, renewals and endorsements;
- Negotiating terms, conditions and pricing with brokers;
- Visiting brokers and building relationships across the Melbourne market;
- Growing new business and holding renewals; and
- Referring complex risks to senior underwriters where needed.
About You
- Solid Financial Lines or Professional Indemnity underwriting experience;
- Underwriting agency experience preferred; insurer backgrounds will be considered;
- Confident face to face with brokers, with an existing Melbourne broker network an advantage;
- Sound technical knowledge of wordings, pricing and risk selection; and
- Strong written and verbal communication.
