Job description
- 2 month and 4 month contracts available, possible extension
- $700-850 per day plus super
- Sydney CBD office, hybrid working
Provide strategic media advice, shape high-profile communications and lead proactive and reactive media responses across complex and sensitive issues for this NSW Government Agency.
About the role:
- Develop high-quality media content that strengthens and protects the agency’s brand and reputation
- Coordinate media activities, including the preparation of media statements, announcements and supporting collateral
- Proactively identify media opportunities and emerging issues, using established processes to develop effective responses
- Monitor state-wide media and support the Senior Media team with strategic media advice, public engagement materials and responses to media enquiries
- Manage competing media requests and priorities,
ensuring deliverables are completed within required timeframes. This may include outside core business hours.
- Build robust, collaborative relationships with Senior Executives, Ministerial Offices and media colleagues across government to support effective media engagement
About you:
- Proven media and journalism experience within a government, public relations or media environment, particularly working across complex and contentious matters
- Demonstrated ability to identify emerging and potential critical issues and develop appropriate media strategies for high-profile and sensitive matters
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience in a related field
