About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Operations Coordination Centre (OCC), the Team Leader is responsible for the effective on-shift leadership and support of our Operations Coordinators, ensuring RFDS SA/NT services are delivered efficiently, responsively and in line with our operational and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop the OCC team, building a highly engaged and high-performing culture.
- Provide leadership, guidance and operational support to Operations Coordinators, particularly during periods of high or complex workloads.
- Monitor operational performance and actively manage key performance indicators and response times.
- Ensure the team has the procedures, resources and skills required to perform effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare and manage OCC rosters and provide after-hours operational on-call support.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
- Promote innovation, continuous improvement and positive organisational change.
- Maintain currency within the Operations Coordinator function, including providing roster relief when required.
- Support disaster and major incident preparedness through relevant training, exercises and operational responses.
About You
You are an experienced and resilient operational leader who thrives in a dynamic environment. You are confident supporting people through complex situations, bring a collaborative leadership style and can balance operational demands with a strong focus on service delivery and stakeholder needs.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience in emergency services and/or aviation coordination, communications and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary environments.
- A strong customer service focus and professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability within dynamic operational environments.
- The ability to empower others to take ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Sound understanding of contemporary human resource and change management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business applications
