We have a robust team, top quality products, and a clear growth agenda. The opportunity to step in and shape the future of our business, while building your own career is here.
Jungheinrich is one of the world's fast growing materials handling companies. Headquartered in Hamburg and employing over 20,000 people across 42 countries, we have been a leading provider in the industry since 1953. Our success comes from being OPEN to new ideas, ACTIVE by taking ownership and driving outcomes, EFFICIENT in delivering solutions, and showing that WE CARE about our people, our customers, and the environment.
Globally recognised as one of the top 1% most sustainable companies, Jungheinrich is committed to climate neutrality and innovation that lasts. Jungheinrich Australia and New Zealand sells, rents and services forklifts and warehouse equipment across both countries from branches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Townsville, and is the Australian partner of Manitou and TCM. Our HSEQ function is certified to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and reports into Jungheinrich's APAC and Global HSEQ organisation.
The role
You are the architect and custodian of our integrated management system (IMS). You own the controlled documents, the registers, the internal audit program, the corrective action system, the compliance and legal register and the management information that shows the business is compliant and the system works. You also own our Group ESH and ESG reporting systems and are the working-level link to Jungheinrich's APAC and Global HSEQ teams. You report to the Director - HSEQ Oceania and give the Director independent, second-line assurance.
What you will own
- IMS design,
integration and continual improvement across three standards, and our certification, surveillance and recertification audits
- The controlled document set, templates, version control and record retention
- The ISO internal audit program and methodology, and second-line assurance of our frontline safety programs
- The CAPA system: corrective action verification, trend analysis and systemic improvement
- The compliance and legal register for Australia and New Zealand
- The competence evidence framework: training, licence, high risk work licence and VoC registers and the competence matrix
- The HSEQ Performance Register, KPIs and dashboards, and monthly reporting to the Director and the senior leadership team
- Group ESH and ESG systems: transposing Group standards into the IMS, running the Group reporting cycles, hosting Group audits and building our climate-related disclosure readiness
What this role is not
It is not an operational safety role. You will not run branch inspections, respond to incidents, lead investigations, manage return-to-work cases or administer customer portals. Our Frontline Safety Specialist owns that work and maintains the operational registers inside the system you design. You set the standard, audit the result and turn what the operation finds into systemic improvement.
What you bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in WHS, quality, environmental management or a related discipline
- Internal auditor training (ISO 19011) and lead auditor in at least one of ISO 45001, 14001 or 9001, or the willingness to complete it within 12 months
- Five or more years in a management-system, quality, assurance or compliance role with hands-on IMS, document control and audit experience, preferably in a certified organisation
- Strong technical writing, analytical and data skills; Power BI or comparable is an advantage
- Experience in a global or matrix organisation, and sustainability or ESG reporting experience, are desirable but not required
- A current driver's licence, willingness to travel to branches periodically, and unrestricted rights to work in Australia
What we offer
- A newly defined, systems-focused role with a clear mandate and no operational overload
- A direct line to the Director HSEQ Oceania and a seat at certification audits, management review and Group assessments
- Salary of $110k to $130k Plus Super for the right person.
- Exclusive vehicle discounts – Enjoy top tier national fleet pricing on a wide range of Volkswagen Group Australia vehicles.
- Health & lifestyle savings – Access Wherefit corporate benefits and save up to 50% on gyms, wellness programs, and more.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Take advantage of confidential, professional support whenever you need it.
