We're seeking an experienced and strategic communications qualified to lead communications and community engagement for major projects that make a lasting impact on our community.
As a Senior Communications Adviser, you'll work closely with project leaders and stakeholders to provide trusted advice, influence key decisions, and deliver communications and engagement initiatives that build community understanding, confidence, and trust. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Communications – Develop and deliver integrated communications and engagement strategies for major projects and Council initiatives.
- Project Leadership – Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams to create high-quality communications, media and marketing outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive project outcomes.
- Trusted Adviser – Provide expert communications, marketing and engagement advice to project teams and business leaders.
- Community Connection – Design and deliver engagement activities that inform, involve and build trust with the community.
- Campaign Delivery – Develop key messages and coordinate communications activities across multiple channels.
- Risk & Reputation Management – Deliver proactive communications that mitigate risks and promote confidence in Council initiatives.
- Budget & Project Oversight – Manage project communications budgets, schedules and resources to achieve value for money.
Skills and experience:
- Extensive experience delivering strategic communications, media, marketing and community engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies that achieve organisational objectives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes and work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience providing high-level communications and engagement advice to senior leaders and project stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex communications projects across multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong consultation, negotiation and client management skills.
- Experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Sound project planning, coordination and budget management capabilities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of skills, knowledge and experience.
