Motivated General Labourers & Trade Assistants wanted for ongoing Civil and Construction projects.
Your New Company
Hays Trades & Labour is partnering with multiple respected contractors across the ACT, supporting a range of construction, infrastructure and civil projects. Due to increasing workload, we are seeking reliable and hardworking General Labourers and Trade Assistants for ongoing casual opportunities across Canberra.
These roles suit individuals who are motivated, safety-focused and looking to gain valuable experience while working on a variety of commercial, construction and civil projects.
Your New Role
As a General Labourer / Trade Assistant, you will provide support to site supervisors, tradespeople and project teams across various construction and civil projects. Your responsibilities may include:
- General site labouring and housekeeping
- Assisting qualified tradespeople and operators
- Manual handling and moving materials around site
- Site preparation and clean-up
- Using basic hand and power tools
- Assisting with deliveries and site logistics
- Following site safety procedures and SWMS
- Supporting construction and civil works as directed
- Maintaining a protected and productive work environment
These positions involve a mixture of day and night shifts, depending on project requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current White Card
- Asbestos Awareness Training
- Silica Awareness Training
- Previous labouring, trade assistant, construction or civil experience
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable transport and punctuality
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
Desirable:
- Working at Heights
- Traffic Control Tickets
- Machine operating experience
- Civil construction experience
- Additional construction tickets and certifications
