/n Join a growing geotechnical consultancy delivering major infrastructure, construction and land development projects across Tasmania. Our client is seeking a practical and motivated Soil Technician to join their established geotechnical team.
Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects including roads, subdivisions, commercial developments, renewable energy and infrastructure works. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys field-based work, has strong attention to detail and wants to build a long-term career within the geotechnical and construction industry.
Your new role
/n Reporting to the Geotechnical Manager, you will be responsible for:
/n
/n
- Conducting field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and construction materials
/n
- Carrying out site investigations and earthworks testing
/n
- Sampling materials and recording accurate test results
/n
- Preparing field reports and maintaining testing documentation
/n
- Monitoring construction compliance against project specifications
/n
- Operating testing equipment safely and efficiently
/n
- Working closely with engineers, contractors and project stakeholders
/n
- Travelling to project sites across Tasmania as required
/n
/n
What you'll need to succeed /n
/nTo be considered for this role,
you will ideally possess:/n
/n
- Previous experience as a Soil Technician, Field Technician, Laboratory Technician or similar
/n
- Knowledge of soil classification, compaction testing and geotechnical sampling techniques
/n
- Experience using field and laboratory testing equipment
/n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
/n
- A current Australian driving licence
/n
- Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
/n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
/n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
/n
- Ability to operate mobile drill-rigs
/n
Candidates with experience in civil construction, materials testing or geotechnical investigations are strongly encouraged to apply./n
