Experienced Cook Wanted – Siam Taste Thai

Position Overview

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Sunbury, VIC

Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 plus super

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute high-quality Thai stir fries (such as Pad Thai and Cashew Nut), traditional curries, and noodle dishes with all raw ingredients and inventory.

- Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements , adjusting recipes for gluten-free, nut-free, vegan, or other specific customer allergies.

- Assist the kitchen head to plan menus and estimate food and supply requirements.

- Manage mise en place, portion control, and ingredient preparation according to restaurant recipes.

- Maintain consistency in food presentation, taste, and temperature during high-heat busy services.

- Store food and stock in designated temperature-controlled facilities in compliance with strict HACCP regulations.

- Strictly adhere to food safety standards,



cleaning procedures, and local health regulations.

- Regulate cooking equipment temperatures , including commercial wok burners, ovens, fryers, and grills.

- Help train other kitchen staff and apprentices in proper Thai culinary techniques and safety measures

Requirements

- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working as a cook or chef in a busy Thai or Asian restaurant environment. Strong wok skills are highly regarded.

- Qualifications : An AQF Certificate III or A QF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery paired with a minimum of 2 years of documented on-the-job training; OR an AQF Certificate IV. In the absence of a formal certificate, a minimum of 3 years of full-time, verifiable experience performing the explicit duties of a Cook within a high-volume Asian/Thai restaurant may substitute.

- Attitude: A reliable team player with a strong "can-do" work ethic and the ability to work under pressure.

- Availability: Versatile to work on a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

- Rights to Work: Must have valid working rights in Australia.
