Berry Street Yooralla's Family Violence service in the West is the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Central Highlands sub-region. The Family Violence service provides support and intervention services to adult and child victim-survivors, as well as people who use violence. Our programs aim to support victim-survivors to remain safely within their community and to recover from the impacts of family violence and, to support accountability and change for people who have used or are using force or violence.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our People Using Violence team.

In this role, you will work with people who use violence or force, supporting accountability, behaviour change and increased safety for victim survivors. You will use evidence-informed interventions across the programs, conduct individual case management responses including A Place for Change, and facilitate group sessions including the Caring Dads Program.

Working within an integrated family violence response, you will collaborate with key stakeholders including Victoria Police, Child Protection, The Orange Door and community partners to promote safety, manage risk and support meaningful change.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing risk assessment and specialist case management.
- Facilitating and co-facilitating group programs.
- Supporting clients to engage with services, housing and community supports.
- Developing and reviewing case plans focused on accountability and behaviour change.
- Participating in case conferencing and integrated family violence responses.
- Maintaining accurate client records and reporting requirements.





Please note that this role may require occasional after-hours work and travel across service locations.

About You

You are a reflective and resilient practitioner with a strong understanding of family violence and a commitment to promoting safety, accountability and social justice.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A Bachelor qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) or meet the Family Violence Mandatory Minimum Qualifications requirements.
- Experience working with families impacted by family violence, including people who use violence or force.
- Skills in risk assessment, case management and client engagement.
- Knowledge of MARAM, family violence legislation and contemporary family violence practice frameworks.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a complex service environment.
- Knowledge of Victoria's family violence, community and justice sectors.
