About The Opportunity

Join Bundaberg Regional Council as a Senior Infrastructure Planning Engineer and play a key role in shaping the future of the region's coastal and stormwater infrastructure. Working within the Infrastructure Assets Branch, you will provide specialist engineering expertise to guide long-term infrastructure investment, flood resilience initiatives, coastal adaptation planning, and strategic asset management outcomes. This position influences major planning and investment decisions that help ensure Council's infrastructure remains sustainable, resilient, and fit for the future.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

- Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia) and RPEQ registration, or the ability to obtain registration.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, investigating, designing or managing civil infrastructure assets within stormwater, flooding, drainage, or coastal environments.
- Strong technical capability in undertaking complex investigations, preparing business cases, evaluating investment options, and providing specialist engineering advice.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships, influence stakeholders, manage consultants, and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.




- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into practical recommendations and community-focused outcomes.
