About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager and playing a critical role in our success, you will be a key technical lead on a diverse portfolio of consulting projects, delivering practical, high-quality solutions for clients across a range of industries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day technical delivery of mechanical engineering scopes across multiple projects, from longer-term greenfield developments to the upgrade and refurbishment of brownfield facilities.
- Taking technical ownership from scoping, concept design and equipment selection through detailed design, testing and commissioning, and ensuring deliverables meet quality, safety and compliance requirements.
- Leading the mechanical design on your projects, including design reviews, checking and verifying the work of others, and applying best practice and relevant Australian Standards.
- Leading the mechanical input to proposals and tender submissions, including scope definition,
technical approach, estimating and clarifications.
- Conducting client-facing site visits to gather requirements, assess existing facilities and plant, and build strong working relationships with client stakeholders.
- Supporting and mentoring junior and graduate engineers on your projects.
- Working with multi-disciplinary project teams and representing mechanical engineering in progress meetings, client interactions and stakeholder engagement.
- Ongoing professional development, including practical and theoretical in-house and external training programs.
About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field, such as Mechanical or a closely related discipline.
- Significant experience delivering small to large-scale mechanical design projects, with a proven record of technical leadership on projects.
- Proven experience in high-risk industries such as water and utilities, oil and gas, pharmaceutical or FMCG.
- Robust project experience in mechanical systems design and exposure to a variety of processes and processing/manufacturing equipment as well as general services and mechanical infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience preparing the technical content of proposals and tenders for mechanical scopes.
- Experience leading the mechanical scope on projects and guiding other engineers, with a hands-on, collaborative style.
- Excellent, influential communication skills, and confidence leading client meetings and site visits while representing the business professionally.
- A self-driven, proactive approach and a desire to grow with the business.
- Chartered status (CPEng) or registration (e.g. RPEV/RPEQ), or eligibility for either, is highly regarded.
- Engineering consultancy experience is highly regarded but not essential.
