Your caseload here can be shaped around what you want to specialise in - communication disorders, dysphagia, AAC, or a broad adult and paediatric mix - with real input into which of those you do more of. Final-year students, new graduates and experienced Speech Pathologists are all genuinely in scope; current graduates get weekly mentoring and structured supervision from day one, and experienced clinicians get a caseload they can specialise or diversify, with a clear path into senior, leadership or mentoring roles when they're ready for it.
ASSESSMENT & DIAGNOSIS
- Assessment and diagnosis of communication disorders
- Functional communication assessments
- Speech, language and social communication interventions
DYSPHAGIA & AAC
- Assessment and management of swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
- Design, trial and implementation of low and high-tech AAC devices
- Development, implementation and review of evidence-based therapy plans
COLLABORATION & SERVICE DELIVERY
- Parent, caregiver and stakeholder education
- Collaborative care planning with Allied Health professionals, educators and medical practitioners
- Community, clinic and school-based services
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Degree in Speech Pathology
- SPA eligibility or Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Working With Children Check and National Police Check
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
