The Role
Hullbot is looking for an Underwater Robot Fleet Technician, comfortable working around ships to deploy robotic systems while collaborating with our growing global service delivery team.
You don’t need to be a diver. You will work on shore/vessel, while the robots do the diving.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare robotic equipment and ensure mission readiness
- Work hands-on with the robots, including direct operation when required
- Deploy and recover autonomous marine robots on vessels
- Work around ports, vessels and some seriously impressive ships,
- Monitor and support live robotic missions
- Work alongside Hullbot’s global remote operations teams
- Produce mission reports, including photos and robot performance reports
- Perform field checks and basic troubleshooting
- Help maintain and prepare the local robotic fleet between missions
- Help us scale our operations in Sydney and around the world
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with robotics, drones, ROVs, marine operations, electronics, mechanics, engineering or technical field work is beneficial, but attitude and practical ability are just as key
- Team member who is technical, hands-on, curious, dependable and genuinely excited by our technology
- Be based in or around Sydney, and have working rights in Australia
- Have strong oral & written communication skills, and fluency with digital communication and documentation tools
- Be available and versatile for day and/or night hull cleaning operations
- Be able to travel for customer hull cleaning operations when required in Australia and overseas sometimes
- Be comfortable working on site ports and vessels

- You will receive a structured onboarding and training program, combining hands-on training with our robots and remote support from experienced Hullbot team members.
- You'll have ongoing support from Hullbot team members around the world.
- You’ll be joining a global team levelling up every day, improving Hullbot’s technology and scaling up the deployment of autonomous robotic systems.
