Josies Transport Group is an established and growing freight and logistics provider servicing metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. With a fleet of over 130 vehicles and a reputation for reliable, customer-focused service, we specialise in palletised and bulk freight deliveries across a broad range of industries.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to identify new opportunities, win new customers, and drive profitable new business growth across our freight network. This role will be predominantly Melbourne-based, with a requirement to work out of our Lara office 1 day per week and occasional travel to regional Victoria as required.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across metropolitan Melbourne, while supporting selected growth opportunities in regional Victoria.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Prospecting and generating new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and customer visits.

- Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline.

- Developing relationships with decision-makers across a range of industries.

- Preparing transport and logistics proposals, quotations, and presentations.

- Identifying customer supply chain challenges and presenting tailored freight solutions.

- Negotiating commercial agreements and closing new business.

- Managing the transition of newly won customers into operations and supporting strategic account growth opportunities.





- Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities.

- Providing regular pipeline reporting.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

- Minimum 3 years' experience in freight transportation or freight brokerage.

- A proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.

- Strong understanding of road freight, palletised freight, courier networks, and transport operations.

- Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.

- Confidence in cold prospecting and business development activities.

- Robust commercial acumen and solution-selling capability.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Current driver's licence.

Highly Regarded

- Existing relationships within manufacturing, FMCG, retail, packaging, industrial, or transport sectors.

- Knowledge of the Victorian freight and logistics market.
