About the Position
We are currently seeking experienced Abrasive Blaster Painters for ongoing Perth metro work based in Henderson, home every night, working
Ready Resources is a leading maintenance and asset management provider supporting mining, energy, industrial and infrastructure projects across Australia. We specialise in connecting skilled trades with ongoing FIFO and metro opportunities, with a robust focus on safety, reliability and long-term work.
You will carry out surface preparation and protective coating application on structural steel, tanks, pipework and fabricated components, working to client specifications and Australian Standards. The role suits ticketed blaster painters who take pride in the finish, keep sound QA records and want consistent local work. NACE/AMPP qualified applicants are highly regarded and well placed for QA and leading hand pathways.
Role Responsibilities
- Abrasive blasting of steel surfaces to specified cleanliness and profile standards
- Applying protective coating systems by airless spray, brush and roller
- Surface preparation with hand and power tools where blasting is not practical
- Completing WFT/DFT readings, environmental checks and QA documentation
- Setting up, operating and maintaining blast and spray equipment
- Erecting containment and managing abrasive and waste housekeeping
- Working safely in confined spaces and at heights
- Taking part in pre-starts, JHAs and Take 5s
Equipment exposure:
- Blast pots and compressors
- Airless spray units
- Dust extraction and dehumidification equipment
- Inspection instruments, including DFT gauges, surface profile gauges and hygrometers
Skills & Experience Required
- Certificate III in Industrial Surface Finishing or equivalent
- Current Confined Space Entry ticket
- Current Working at Heights ticket
- Current First Aid certificate
- NACE/AMPP Level 1 or 2 highly regarded
- Previous blasting and painting experience in a mining, resources or heavy industrial environment
- Sound knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation standards and product data sheets
- Ability to work safely as part of a team
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport to Henderson
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
