About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist to support the implementation of a new enterprise risk management tool within a Commonwealth Government environment.

You will provide specialist advice throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring risk management frameworks, policies, controls, reporting requirements and governance arrangements are effectively translated into the recent system. This role will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen organisational risk management capability, improve compliance and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse existing risk management frameworks, policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Support the implementation and configuration of an enterprise risk management tool.
- Review and validate risk taxonomies, categories, consequence and likelihood matrices, treatment plans and control libraries.
- Translate governance and risk management requirements into detailed system configuration specifications.
- Provide specialist advice throughout solution design, configuration, testing and deployment.
- Develop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios and test cases.
- Support data cleansing, migration and validation activities where required.
- Update risk management documentation to align with system implementation and relevant compliance obligations.




- Ensure risk processes and reporting support enterprise, strategic, operational, project and compliance risks.

Essentials

- Minimum five years' experience in enterprise risk management within the Australian Public Sector or a similarly regulated environment.
- Experience supporting the implementation, enhancement or optimisation of a risk management information system, GRC platform or similar governance solution.
- Strong understanding of the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy, PGPA Act 2013 and APS governance and assurance frameworks.
- Understanding of risk reporting, accountability and compliance requirements.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, briefing papers, documentation and training materials.
- Hold or be able to obtain an AGSVA Baseline security clearance.

Desirable

- Experience implementing risk management solutions within a Commonwealth Government department or APS agency.
- Experience with ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) or GRC modules.
- Experience supporting risk-related data cleansing, migration and validation.
- Experience developing dashboards, risk reports, executive reporting packs and performance metrics.
