About the role

Water Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Construction/Maintenance Technician (Water Infrastructure) to join our growing team in Burpengary, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining and constructing the water infrastructure assets that serve our community. As a Construction/Maintenance Technician, you will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring that maintenance and projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and functionality of essential water infrastructure that communities depend on every day.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on water infrastructure systems, including pipes, pumps, treatment facilities and related equipment

- Assist in the construction and installation of new water infrastructure components, following engineering plans and safety protocols

- Conduct repairs and troubleshooting on damaged or malfunctioning water systems with minimal downtime

- Operate and maintain specialised tools and equipment used in water infrastructure work

- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections

- Identify and report potential safety hazards and compliance issues

- Work collaboratively with other team members and contractors on projects

- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in plumbing, mechanical work, or a related construction trade

- Proven experience in water infrastructure maintenance, construction or related field work

- Strong understanding of water systems, pipework and associated mechanical components

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites





- Current or ability to obtain relevant safety certifications (such as White Card or equivalent)

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including working at heights and in confined spaces where applicable

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

- Commitment to health and safety best practices
