About Us
We are a proud NDIS Disability Support Services Provider focused on delivering high-quality care and support to our community. We operate in a highly dynamic sector, and we pride ourselves on an inclusive workplace culture that champions the professional growth of our people.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Support Worker to provide specialised care to our youth NDIS participants with complex neurodevelopmental, trauma-related, and high-intensity behavioural needs. You will work closely with our Case Managers to implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP), foster emotional regulation, and assist with active community engagement. This role will support our youth based in our Northern Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behaviour Support: Reinforce established PBSPs with a deep focus on trauma-informed care and verbal de-escalation.
- Community & Social Inclusion: Support participants in accessing recreational, social, and skill-building activities out in the community.
- Daily Living Support: Assist with routine building, emotional co-regulation, and independent life skill development.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed shift notes, behaviour tracking logs, and incident reports to ensure accurate care team alignment.
About You:
- Trauma-Informed Co-Regulation: You can stay calm, grounded, and emotionally steady when a young person is highly distressed, verbally aggressive, or experiencing a behavioral escalation.
- Positive Regard & Resilience: You confidently separate the youth from their behaviour—delivering non-judgmental, consistent care entirely free of punitive responses or resentment.
- Proactive De-escalation:
You excel at tracking environmental triggers and signs of sensory overload, stepping in with verbal and physical de-escalation strategies before a crisis hit.
- Professional Boundaries: You understand the vital line between a supportive, empathetic connection and a personal relationship, providing a safe, predictable framework for the youth.
- Independent Accountable Decision-Making: You are confident making safe, legally sound, split-second safety choices in high-stress community settings without direct supervision.
- Objective Reporting: You can accurately translate emotionally intense, complex behavioral incidents into explicit, neutral, and data-driven clinical shift notes for behavior support practitioners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Industry Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Youth Work, Mental Health, or Community Services.
- Clearances & Screenings: A current and active NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card clear) and Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Licensing & Transit: Valid Open Queensland Driver’s Licence, alongside a reliable, roadworthy, and comprehensively insured vehicle to facilitate active community access.
- Emergency First Aid: Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and CPR certificates.
What We Offer
- Full SCHADS Compliance & Premium Pay: Work with absolute peace of mind.
We pay strictly at or above the SCHADS Award [MA000100] scale, with guaranteed 2-hour minimum shifts.
- Transparent Km & Expense Reimbursement: Your vehicle costs are fully covered. Receive travel allowance for any participant transit, plus applicable broken-shift allowances paid exactly to award standards.
- Clinical Supervision & Paid Training: Complex care requires a supported team. You will have direct access to regular, paid de-briefing sessions with our support team, plus ongoing, specialised trauma-informed care training via our in-house training provider.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Your mental well-being is vital. Enjoy free, 100% confidential professional counseling and wellness coaching sessions to support you both on and off shift.
