About Us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver perks more broadly.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the Role

Lead specialist mental health services that make a real difference in Victoria's justice system.

Join the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and provide strategic, clinical and contractual leadership for specialist mental health services and the Court Mandated Counselling Order Program (CMCOP). Working at the intersection of mental health and justice, you'll help shape services that support court users experiencing mental ill-health, cognitive impairment and other complex needs.

Reporting to the General Manager, Program Services and Practice, you will lead the governance, quality and performance of specialist mental health programs delivered across the Court. You'll work closely with Magistrates, court staff, service providers and government stakeholders to ensure services are safe, evidence-informed and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing expert clinical leadership and governance across specialised mental health services.
- Leading contract management, performance monitoring and continuous improvement of CMCOP and related programs.
- Driving service quality through program development, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
- Delivering secondary consultations and coordinating high-risk panel processes.
- Building workforce capability through training and advice on mental health presentations and referral pathways.
- Providing strategic advice to support service innovation and system-wide outcomes.

About You

- Extensive experience in clinical practice leadership and governance within the mental health, family violence, AOD or disability service sectors.
- Sound knowledge of evidence informed practice models and frameworks for working with clients with complex mental health and/or disability support needs, including trauma informed,

client and family centred practices.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage, present information and build productive relationships with Magistrates and other internal and external stakeholders.
