Pace Appointments QLD is partnering with a respected Australian-owned international freight forwarding and logistics business seeking an experienced Cartage Coordinator.
This position can be based in either Brisbane CBD or the Gold Coast and will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of transport and delivery coordination while maintaining regular communication with clients.
The Opportunity:
Working closely with the Customer Service and Key Account teams, you will coordinate the transport and delivery requirements for a portfolio of valued clients. Your focus will be on ensuring FCL, LCL and airfreight deliveries are arranged efficiently, compliance requirements are met and clients remain informed throughout the process.
You will support a significant accounts moving approximately 600–700 containers annually, along with other key accounts across Queensland and Australia. Exposure to project cargo, including OOG and breakbulk movements, would be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Book transport carriers and coordinate FCL, LCL and airfreight deliveries
- Arrange delivery timeslots and monitor container availability
- Coordinate Customs and DAFF requirements, including inspections, fumigation and cargo holds
- Manage empty-container dehire and minimise detention-related costs
- Monitor cargo outturns, storage and loading or unloading requirements
- Coordinate off-port movements and deliveries into project cargo depots
- Manage transport job costs,
supplier charges and variation invoicing
- Investigate and resolve transport or delivery issues
- Provide clients with proactive updates throughout the delivery process
- Work closely with Customer Service and Key Account teams
- Maintain accurate transport and shipment information within CargoWise
Skills and Experience
- Previous cartage or transport coordination experience within international freight forwarding
- Sound understanding of FCL and LCL container movements
- Exposure to airfreight transport coordination would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Customs and DAFF clearance requirements
- CargoWise experience is essential
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
- Project cargo, OOG or breakbulk exposure would be advantageous but is not essential
