Quality Improvement Lead | Educational Leadership & Compliance

KingKids Early Learning Centres & Kindergartens

Location: Narre Warren & Dandenong, VIC
Employment Type: Full-time | Dedicated Leadership Position | Not Counted in Educator-to-Child Ratios

About the Role

At KingKids, everything we do begins with children. Their safety, wellbeing, learning and development are at the heart of every decision we make, and their best interests must always remain our paramount consideration.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and inspiring Quality Improvement Lead (QIL) to support our Narre Warren and Dandenong services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a natural leader who believes that quality education and care is about more than meeting standards. It is about creating environments where children thrive, educators feel empowered and continuous improvement becomes part of everyday practice.

Our Quality Improvement Lead role has evolved beyond the traditional Educational Leader position, combining pedagogical leadership, coaching and mentoring with quality assurance, compliance and child safety responsibilities. This is a dedicated leadership position that is not counted towards educator-to-child ratios, providing you with the time and opportunity to observe practice, mentor educators, strengthen systems and lead meaningful improvements across our services. You will spend two days per week at each service, with an additional day dedicated to administration, critical reflection, professional development and strategic improvement initiatives within one of the services (5 Days). While primarily supporting Narre Warren and Dandenong, you will collaborate with our broader KingKids leadership team to strengthen our professional learning community and share quality practices across our services.

What You'll Be Doing

Educational Leadership and Pedagogy

- Inspire, coach and mentor educators to strengthen pedagogical practice, intentional teaching and meaningful learning experiences.

- Support educators to embed the EYLF, VEYLDF and National Quality Framework into everyday practice.

- Observe educational practice, provide constructive feedback and develop educator capability through reflection and professional learning.

- Champion inclusive, culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate practices that support every child's learning, wellbeing and participation.

Quality Improvement and Compliance

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support services to embed Exceeding practices across the National Quality Standard.

- Conduct monthly compliance checks, identify potential risks and implement and monitor corrective actions.

- Support Quality Improvement Plan development, critical reflection and Assessment and Rating preparation.

- Review policies, procedures, documentation and operational practices to ensure alignment with legislative and regulatory requirements.

- Promote a proactive approach to child safety,

including embedding the Victorian Child Safe Standards across everyday practice.

Leadership, Coaching and Accountability

- Work collaboratively with Centre Directors and leadership teams to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen professional accountability.

- Build educator confidence through coaching, mentoring, constructive feedback and meaningful professional conversations.

- Lead teams through change, ensuring improvements are understood, implemented and sustained.

- Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities, workshops and practical training.

- Promote a culture where educators understand not only what quality practice looks like, but why it matters for children.

Community and Professional Connections

- Build meaningful connections with families, community organisations and early childhood industry professionals.

- Identify opportunities for collaboration, professional learning and community engagement that enrich children's experiences.

- Contribute to a collaborative professional learning community across KingKids services.

Above all, you will champion the belief that children's safety, wellbeing and best interests are paramount. Every improvement, decision and professional conversation should ultimately lead to better outcomes for children.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a natural leader who leads with kindness, integrity, confidence and accountability.

Someone who can inspire educators, identify opportunities for improvement and turn reflection into meaningful action.

Ideally, you will bring:

- A Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education, or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care with at least five years of relevant leadership experience.

- Demonstrated experience in an Educational Leader, Quality Improvement Lead, Centre Director or similar leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, Victorian Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation.

- Experience conducting compliance reviews, identifying risks and embedding sustainable improvement strategies.

- Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to mentor educators in planning, assessment, intentional teaching and critical reflection.

- The confidence to provide constructive feedback, have challenging conversations and support professional accountability.

- Excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to work autonomously across multiple services.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to positively influence teams and collaborate with leadership.

- A genuine commitment to inclusion, cultural safety,

continuous professional learning and achieving Exceeding quality practice.

Highly Regarded

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).

- Experience developing and delivering professional learning, workshops or training within the early childhood sector.

- Experience supporting services through Assessment and Rating or leading sustained quality improvement initiatives.

Most importantly, we want to work with someone who is child-focused in every decision, who understands that quality, compliance and educational leadership must work together to create the best possible outcomes for children.
