This is an exciting opportunity to join our long established Fresh Select Farm based in Werribee South— a hands-on role working closely with our Farm Manager across crop maintenance, irrigation, spraying, ground preparation, machinery operation and farm technology.

We are looking for someone who has exposure to operating tractors, vehicles or farming equipment, and can confidently take ownership of the role, demonstrate initiative, problem solve and always be thinking a step ahead. For the right person, this role has the potential to develop into a future 2IC-style pathway, supporting day-to-day farm operations and helping drive continuous improvement across the farm.

About the role

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will play an important role in keeping crops in optimal condition through accurate irrigation, fertilisation, spraying, general farm maintenance and ground preparation. You will also be involved in using and supporting farm technology, including recording applications and helping the team adopt smarter, more efficient ways of working.

What you’ll be doing

- Operating tractors, farm vehicles and relevant implements to support fertilising, mulching, spraying and ground preparation activities.

- Assisting with irrigation scheduling, system checks, adjustments and basic repairs to support strong crop growth.

- Supporting safe chemical mixing and pesticide application

- Helping prepare ground for planting, including cultivation, bed formation and land levelling.

- Using farm technology such as Live Farmer to accurately record applications and daily activities.

- Trialling and adopting new tools, systems, equipment or technology that improve efficiency, quality and sustainability.





- Assisting with general farm maintenance, including basic infrastructure, irrigation systems and fences.

About you

You do not need to be the finished product — but you do need to be motivated, reliable, practical and ready to learn. You may be early in your farming career, come from a farming family, have worked on farm previously, or have hands-on exposure to machinery, vehicles or outdoor operations. Most importantly, you will bring the right attitude and a strong desire to progress.

We’re looking for someone who has

- Hands-on exposure to farming, horticulture, cropping, machinery operation or a similar agricultural environment.

- Confidence operating farm vehicles, tractors or other equipment, and the eagerness to build these skills further.

- Strong computer literacy and a willingness to champion technology adoption on farm.

- A practical, problem-solving mindset and the ability to think ahead.

- Valuable communication skills and a positive, team-first approach.

- Attention to detail when completing applications, records and operational tasks.

- A current driver’s licence is essential; a forklift licence would be highly regarded.

- Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

- A safety first mindset.

- Availability across Monday to Saturday with occasional Sunday work during peak periods.
