The Opportunity
Reporting to the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Media, Marketing & Communications Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our internal and external communications strategy. This position is responsible for media relations, brand management, marketing campaigns, digital communications, social media management, and content creation that aligns with our vision, values, and organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Develop and implement marketing, branding, media, and communication initiatives that support organisational priorities, health promotion activities, and recruitment campaigns.
- Create engaging content across a variety of channels including websites, intranet, newsletters, publications, videos, and social media.
- Manage and maintain the organisation's website, ensuring content remains accurate, current, and engaging.
- Coordinate and moderate social media platforms in a culturally appropriate and engaging manner.
- Manage media enquiries and prepare media releases and advocacy content.
- Lead the development and production of the organisation's Annual Report.
- Support events,
community celebrations, and promotional activities through the creation of marketing collateral and displays.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver consistent and effective communications.
- Maintain photographic and video consent processes in a culturally respectful and compliant manner.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a communications, marketing, media, or related role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
- Experience managing digital platforms including websites and social media channels.
- Strong project management, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Graphic design and/or desktop publishing experience.
- A genuine commitment to Aboriginal community control and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Yolngu communities in remote settings
Desirable
- Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
- Membership of a relevant skilled association.
- Experience writing in Plain English.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance) or ability to obtain.
- National Police Clearance or ability to obtain.
- Compliance with organisational vaccination and immunity screening requirements.
